5 Activities for Your Traverse City Engagement Session
We totally get it, the idea of being in front of the camera can be awkward, and might bring back some memories of sitting for junior high class photos. No worries, we gotcha ya! It’s our job to help make you feel comfortable and to create a memorable experience that captures your relationship.When planning your engagement (or couple’s adventure, or even elopement!), we want to capture your love, connection, and life together. Sometimes it’s helpful to choose an activity to center your session around, so the photos completely document you. And if you’re not sure where to start, here are some ideas to get you started.

Explore Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore:
So many of our sessions take place within the national park! There are miles of dunes, beaches, and so many old farmhouses. We can find the perfect spot to capture your engagement, based on the vibe you are hoping to have. And if you want to bring your dog, we can suggest the best puppet friendly spots with the park.
If you’re not familiar with Northern Michigan, there are so many wineries, breweries, and coffee shops to visit! If going to restaurants or grabbing drinks is something you and your boo like to do, we’d be happy to take you to some of our favorite (and most picturesque) spots in the area. For this option, we recommend our adventure session, so we can start with drinks, and still fit in time for a visit to the lake.
3. Helicopter Tour of Traverse City
This has been a session dream of ours. A new perspective of the city, and an amazing way to create a memorable Traverse City engagement session. We could start with photos outside of the helicopter, do the tour, and finish the session at the lake or in the woods.

4. A Craft Night at Home:
Do you have a hobby or something you and your boo love to do together? Set up your favorite craft, game, or activity at home, and we can document you just being you. If you’re not from Traverse City, we can still create some at home magic in your airbnb!
Maybe you just proposed, or just want to close out the night on the water. Check out Tall Ship Manitou, and set up a sunset ride on the West Bay. You can also stop and grab drinks or snacks, to have a romantic sunset dinner (and obviously, don’t forget to let us come abroad with you!).
